Aquatic, River & Coastal System Science

Spanning from arctic lakes to major tropical river basins, this work investigates the physical, energetic, and biogeochemical dynamics of freshwater, riverine, and coastal environments. Key focuses include physical-biological coupling, air-water gas exchange, sediment transport, and aquatic energetics at the base of food webs. By combining field measurements, high-frequency sensors, remote sensing, and network modeling, researchers advance our understanding of river system sustainability, water quality, and regional-to-global aquatic carbon fluxes under a changing climate.
