Audrey Goeckner is a postdoc focused on carbon and nitrogen biogeochemistry. As a postdoc at the University of Florida, she studied hydrologic drivers of microbially mediated carbon cycling across terrestrial-aquatic interfaces of freshwater wetlands. Her graduate work at UF (MS and PhD) characterized carbon and nitrogen cycling in stormwater ponds relative to natural ponds, and how their discharge influences microbiomes and ecosystem functions downstream. At UCSB, Audrey will study methane flux and oxidation from termite mounds in Congo Basin savannas and rainforests.
